Founded in 1986, Project Self-Sufficiency is a private, nonprofit organization committed to guiding individuals and families in northwestern New Jersey toward economic independence and personal empowerment. They serve residents of Sussex, Warren, and Hunterdon Counties with a mission to break the cycle of poverty and foster long-term self-reliance. Their supportive, community-based approach allows participants to identify their goals and take meaningful steps toward a brighter future.
Their comprehensive services include education and career training, family counseling, legal advocacy, childcare, parenting workshops, and emergency support such as food, clothing, and housing referrals.
