Project Self Sufficiency Fall Classic

Founded in 1986, Project Self-Sufficiency is a private, nonprofit organization committed to guiding individuals and families in northwestern New Jersey toward economic independence and personal empowerment. They serve residents of Sussex, Warren, and Hunterdon Counties with a mission to break the cycle of poverty and foster long-term self-reliance. Their supportive, community-based approach allows participants to identify their goals and take meaningful steps toward a brighter future.

Their comprehensive services include education and career training, family counseling, legal advocacy, childcare, parenting workshops, and emergency support such as food, clothing, and housing referrals. Unique programs like the Little Sprouts Early Learning Center and the Journey Family Success Center provide holistic care for families and children, while their community gardens and on-site events nurture both self-sufficiency and connection.

At Project Self-Sufficiency, they believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive. Through compassion, collaboration, and a deep commitment to social equity, they help individuals transform challenges into opportunities. By strengthening families and empowering individuals, they build stronger, more resilient communities — one success story at a time.
